Kimbolton School is an HMC independent (‘private’) co-educational day and boarding school situated in rural countryside near Bedfordshire. Our Prep School (Primary, Reception to Year 6) and Senior School (Secondary, Years 7-13) cater for pupils aged 4 to 18, with an almost even split between boys and girls. Boarding starts at age 11. There are various options available, including full, weekly and flexi-boarding. Our boarding houses are located on Kimbolton village’s historic and beautiful High Street that backs onto the school grounds.
Our private school campus provides a nurturing environment for your child to grow, learn and play, with a full programme of sports activities, creative arts and outdoor pursuits across the whole age range. Located at one end of Kimbolton village close to the Bedfordshire border is the Prep School for 4 to 11 year olds. The Senior (Secondary) School for 11 to 18 year olds is centred around the historic Kimbolton Castle, which can be accessed by a short walk through the scenic parklands or a minute’s drive through the village.
Our attractive private school campus has many accolades, and we are proud to have been placed in the Top 100 Independent co-educational boarding schools in the UK. We have featured on this list every year since 2008. Kimbolton School in Bedfordshire is also recognised as charging one of the lowest fees for full-time boarding places in the UK. We were also placed in The Telegraph's 2020 Top 10 Value for Money Boarding Schools in the UK, and are one of The Sunday Times' 2020 Top 15 Independent Secondary Schools in East Anglia.
We offer assistance with fees in the form of bursaries and scholarships to pupils aged 11+ who, without assistance, might not be able to afford an education at Kimbolton School near Bedfordshire.
