4 May | Milton Keynes Prep |
After the first innings for the B team, the scores were level at 5 all. We played a shorter 2nd innings and there was all to play for. With some superb catches and bowling, the team worked together to keep the opposition's score low. Final score: 11-7 win. However, what was far more pleasing to hear came from the umpire from MKPS who commented on how polite and well behaved our girls were, how kind they were to others and how they worked as a team. This is great to hear girls, well done! |
12 May | Laxton |
The U11A team set off in high spirits on Saturday morning to play an away fixture against Laxton. After a nervous start in the first innings, only half a rounder up at 5 1/2 - 5, they started the second innings strongly and scored 3 rounders in the first few balls of the innings. Their tactical fielding and decision making were excellent and they only conceded 2 rounders in the second innings to win the game 11-7. Special mention goes to Amelia Cremonesini for her excellent positional play as backstop and Ruby Lane for her fielding on 1st post and for strong batting. The U11B team kept their cool to win a closely fought match with a final scoreline of 8 1/2 - 7. Superb bowling from Ruby Lorigan and excellent fielding from Lola Robinson helped keep Laxton's score low and great batting from Martha Lorigan, Mathilde Layman and Lili Ŝljapić secured the win with 6 balls to spare. Well done girls. |
19 May |
The girls played a great game, covering all posts when fielding, showing an excellent display of team work which resulted in many of the Stamford girls being caught or 'stumped' out. The second half, when batting, saw the girls take a few more risks to ensure they scored at least 1/2 a rounder. Win 13-12 Player of the match - Mathilde Layman and Lola Robinson. |

Stamford |
The U10A's played a game of two halves against Stamford. In the first innings they didn't focus on their batting and were all out by ball 26, although their fielding was good and they got lots of players out on 1st post. They came out fighting in the second innings and scored rounder after rounder and fielded superbly to win 20 1/2 - 11 1/2. Player of the Match was Hannah McNish. Well played everyone, great team effort. The U10Bs lost to Stamford 14 - 17 1/2. They played really well in the first innings and were ahead 7-6 at the beginning of the second innings but unfortunately mistakes were made and some inaccurate throwing and missed catches allowed the opposition to secure the win. That aside, the batting and fielding did improve as the match went on and special mention goes to Alexia Gilbert for her fielding on 1st post where she stumped several players out. Player of the Match goes to Keira Courtney who hit the ball beautifully and managed to score five rounders. |

9 June | Bilton Grange |
The U10A team performed really well in their fixture against Bilton Grange on Saturday to secure a 21 - 17 win. All the girls are now managing to hit the ball consistently and are running round the posts sensibly to score more rounders. The fielding was superb with good decision making and tactical play in abundance. Player of the Match for batting - Tilly Smyth. Player of the Match for fielding - Tilley Skinner. |
