Kimbolton School Prep hosts delightful Summer Concert
On 22 May, the Hunter Hall at Kimbolton School Prep came alive with the sounds of our young musicians during the Summer Concert. The event featured a variety of performances that entertained an audience of family and friends.
On 22 May, the Hunter Hall at Kimbolton School Prep came alive with the sounds of our young musicians during the Summer Concert. The event featured a variety of performances that entertained an audience of family and friends.
The concert began with the Year 2 Recorder Ensemble's rendition of "Union Street Blues," setting a pleasant tone for the afternoon. Following this, the Brass Ensemble performed "Lean on Me" and "Kum Ba Yah."
The Saxophone Ensemble played "Fanfare," and the Junior Choir sang A Million Dreams from The Greatest Showman – there was not a dry eye in the house! Our Year 4 Recorders performed an up-beat version of The Bare Necessities, while the Junior Orchestra played Canon in D.
Our Prep Guitar Ensemble then entertained us all with Farruca, Seven Nation Army, and Here Comes the Sun.
The first act finale was led by our very own rock band 'The Kings of Kimbolton' performing Ob-la-di, Ob-la-da.
After a brief interval, Act 2 opened with the Senior Orchestra's performances of St Anthony Chorale and Ridgeway Rock. The Flute Ensemble played London Bridge is Falling Down and Ode to Joy. The String Ensemble performed Simple Syncopation, and the Clarinet Ensemble played Greensleeves and Smoke on the Water.
Our Prep Chamber Choir sang When I Grow Up from Matilda, followed by the Senior Choir's rendition of Mr. Blue Sky by the Electric Light Orchestra.
The Summer Concert showcased the musical talents of our students and the dedication of their teachers. We look forward to more performances in the future and would like to thank Mr David Gibbs for organising this very special event.
