Pupils’ Platinum Pudding Challenge
Senior School pupils compete to devise a dish fit for a Queen!
Senior School pupils are on a quest to create a pudding fit for a Queen! The Kimbolton School cookery competition is running alongside the national one, in which children and adults across Britain have been asked to come up with a new “Platinum Pudding” as part of celebrations to mark the Queen's 70-year reign.
Steamed or baked, layered or rolled, a pie or crumble, a cake or tart, the competitions are open to interpretation. Pupils are invited to submit their recipes by the school deadline of 9am on Monday 21 February, slightly later than the national competition deadline of Friday 4 February.
The national competition will be judged by a panel including MasterChef's Monica Galetti and Dame Mary Berry, with the winning recipe shared with the nation for people to enjoy as part of the Platinum Jubilee celebrations. In Kimbolton, our in-school winning pudding will be served at lunch in the School Dining Hall during the week of the national Jubilee Bank Holiday in June.
There’s no doubt our pupils will rise to the challenge – good luck!
